Employment - 2015-2016
Brief: As an Instructional Assistant at Design Tech High School, (d.tech) I was given the opportunity to define the future of the “Design Realization Garage" AKA, "DRG."
At the time of my employment, the DRG was a mere garage filled with used woodworking tools, dust, and a ton of potential. Since then, the DRG is now an interdisciplinary rapid prototyping studio where 9th and 10th graders transition their concepts into working prototypes.
On an ordinary day, I helped maintain a safe and welcoming environment where students of all backgrounds and abilities learn how to use power tools, 3D printers, laser cutters, and complex design software.
Eight weeks out of the year, I taught compact design thinking courses geared around the fundamental skills needed to become a handy, well-rounded designer.
